Why?

Every writer understands that original human writing is diluted on the internet. To date, it has been a matter of incentives and economics. SEO, thin content, clickbait and content farming have all had a detrimental effect on the overall quality of content online.

Large-Language-Models such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Llama3, etc. are reducing the cost of creating this type of content to practically nothing. LLMs are also very good at style-transfer, whereas a piece of writing can be rewritten in the style of a specific, known author.

Meanwhile, academics, content writers and students are sometimes falsely accused of using LLMs to create their work. Tools designed to detect LLM-generated content often suffer from many false-positives, as they are designed to prove that conent was generated by an LLM, as opposed to proving it was written by a human.

Our aim with typecha.com is three-fold:

  1. Allow writers to certify the authorship of their own writing, thus increasing the authenticity and authority of their work.
  2. Protect authors from impersonation (from LLMs or even other authors), by creating a profile of their writing, connected to their TYPECHA account.
  3. Host a platform where only human-created content is shared.

We hope that you'll join us on this mission.
